To storm chase or not to storm chase, that is the question...

Doug Kiesling, The Weather Paparazzi

Welcome to the home page of Douglas "Lightningboy" Kiesling, The Weather Paparazzi. This is my personal blog and photo gallery page.

I'm am a freelance videographer for CNN, ABC News, The Weather Channel, Associated Press TV News, National Geographic Channel, and various other television networks around the world. I am also the founder of BNVN or Breaking News Video Network, Inc.

For some of you, now your asking, "what the heck happened to Lightningboy.com?" While some of you are also asking what happened to all of the video that was on WeatherPaparazzi.com?

Answer: I organized everything. All of my video is now hosted on www.BNVN.com and Lightningboy.com and WeatherPaparazzi.com is now merged together into my personal blog page. Any video here is just to tell a story about what I do for a living.

All video sales are now through BNVN.com or my agents at the Conus Archive. So if your looking for the video catalogs that were here, you need to visit http://www.bnvn.com

Just an update for everyone.  I will be working on a major website redesign for this page over the next month and will be adding limited photo sales for some of my work.

First off, I'm going to be adding dozens of new stock video catalogs to www.bnvn.com tonight and tomorrow.  Everything is loading up to the system now so it is just a mater of uploading the footage.

Back in July of 2004, we shot footage of an explosive storm sewer on Interstate 35W and 35th street in Minneapolis, MN.  Since then we have been getting requests for another video that was shot by a traffic camera in 1999 of the same thing happening and causing an accident.
